When is a station not a station?

When it’s at Ridgmont - the station long closed and deserted has reinvented itself as the Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre and Tearooms. The platform and lines are still very much open though as a branch line covered by the Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership and rail service provider London Midland.

In 2015 the halfling project and William David moved into the Station and now shoots and meetings take place there.

Ridgmont is a strange combination of times past and times present, and even times future. Outside my office window I can watch traffic go up and down the M1 at what is junction 13. Go into the village and it has a quiet relaxed old world charm surrounded by woods and farmland. It also has two Churches one a ruin and popular shoot location and one still there for all - with a very impressive steeple.

The future is represented by the massive Amazon warehouse and industrial estate. [Strictly speaking in Brogborough but that’s a minor point!!]

So welcome to Ridgmont - Bedfordshire - the Tearooms , Heritage Centre and ofcourse The Halfling Project
