Nottingham born guitarist singer songwriter Jake Bugg is a modern day “youth” made good - but reflecting on what might have been and from where he came from through music and video.
This video [2014] from the 20 year old performer - is where he acts as the observer rather than playing a “messed up kid” himself. This is quite different from other video’s so far where he has acted out - all be it very tongue in cheek his own character within the video.
Messed Up kids was shot in the shadow of as council block in Bow East London - at a very high frame rate and then edited by Sam Ostrove [Cut a run].
Jake Bugg is more than a singer he is in his own right a performer - with a strong message ephic.
It’s worth viewing his other youth related video’s with that excellent combination of serious subject and humour balance.
